Assassination Classroom leans heavily on repetition for much of the season. To an extent, this mentality isn’t too far off. Having a bunch of junior high delinquents kill their artificially composed “sensei” is pretty imaginative, but simultaneously seems as if there isn’t much to work with. Picking up knives and weapons instead of pens and utensils, the kids train themselves to eliminate this otherworldly creature. One day, a new “teacher” arrives, tasking the class with a seemingly simple objective: assassinate him before the time limit is reached or the Earth is doomed. Assassination Classroom performs similarly, offering an anime that still has lessons to be learned.Īssassination Classroom follows the “End Class,” a group of students relegated to the bottom-of-the-barrel in their school system due to their poor grades, abysmal behavior, or any combination thereof. They stuck through my incessant ramblings, allowing me to realize the error of my ways, making me into a better person because of their hard work. I eventually learned this lesson – it took a little too long by my family’s account – but my teachers never gave up on me. you get to speak your mind and times when you just have to shut up. No matter how many reprimands or punishments I got, I couldn’t seem to get it into my noggin that there are times when I would talk while the teachers were speaking, I would talk over my friends, and I would talk during assemblies when I wasn’t supposed to. There was a big flaw that took a while for me to shake off, though: talking way too much. I read my books, did my homework, and played nicely during recess. Spoilers ahead!)Īs I made my way through my early education, I always considered myself a pretty good student. (This has been adapted from my blog/reddit thread. Through trial and error, Nagisa Shiota, as well as the other students of Class 3-E, must figure out Koro-sensei's weaknesses-and fast, for the very fate of the world depends upon it. Training the class to excel in both their studies as students and skills as assassins, Koro-sensei is confident that his students' ingenuity and indomitable will could return them to the main campus. Ironically, he also proves to be one of the best teachers Class 3-E has ever had. Not only can Koro-sensei move at speeds of up to Mach 20, but he can also resist almost every earthly weapon. In light of their mission, the students have found that killing him is easier said than done. Having already destroyed the moon, the octopus-like professor-dubbed "Koro-sensei"-has now threatened to destroy the Earth by March of the following year. That is, until the national government tasks them with eliminating the greatest threat to their planet: their new teacher. Looked down upon by their peers, the students in this class appear to have little hope in advancing their academic careers. To be a guide, to be a teacher.Tucked in the mountains near the elite Kunugigaoka Middle School lies a small derelict building that houses the delinquents and dropouts of Class 3-E. To perceive weakness in others not to exploit but to protect. To be weak I said, to be flawed, vulnerable. Perhaps the most memorable speech from Korosensei was when he explained his goal of being a teacher: "The tentacles spoke to me, asked what I wanted to be. I myself have made so many mistakes.but we can learn from the past so we don't repeat it."Īlthough Korosensei threatened to destroy the planet after teaching his class for a year, we still love him anyway. The homeroom teacher of Class 3-E, Korosensei has some ridiculous quotes that are beautiful in a sadistic kind of way: "What does it feel like, having your own death right before your eyes? That grand kaleidoscope glimpsed in the moments before death.what could be flashing through that perfect mind of yours?" When he's not saying crazy things, Korosensei (formerly known as "The Reaper") can actually give some pretty good advice about looking forward in life: "The past you've lost will never come back. For this list we're ranking the most epic and funny Korosensei quotes, with the help of your votes. "Take advantage of what you have, while you have it." This might be the best Korosensei quote from Assassination Classroom, but there are a ton of other great ones that deserve recognition.

They’re so small, cool, powerful, and quiet! One computer might be enough for me, but if I run out of capacity, it’s good to have a viable expansion plan that doesn’t break the bank and to have a backup plan as well. (What I’m really trying to do here is justify use of M1 Macs, even though they are limited to 16 GB RAM. Also interest to note that, like a RAID setup, if you use N computers, you only need N+1 to provide a backup. I’m wondering if people here have practical experience with multiple PCs with Gig Performer and if there are best practices.Īnyway, it’s interesting to note that a backup machine could be put to work. This could eliminate the need for MIDI cables and a second audio interface, assuming there are tools to set up virtual, networked I/O. Note that you can get Mac Minis with 10G Ethernet. And Gig Performer has enough flexibility to handle whatever. If one audio interfaces has enough inputs, you don’t need a mixer, etc. Of course, there are any number of hybrid serial/parallel combinations. This is kind of a serial configuration, where you still need two audio interfaces, but no mixer. The secondary PC might focus on standard sounds, like a favorite piano, organ, etc. It could still switch rackspaces, but might be simpler than the gymnastics of the primary computer. It receives audio from the first computer, mixes them, might handle reverb and final limiting, etc. It just sits there ready to play sounds from MIDI. There could be risk of the systems getting out of sync, so use hard numbers, rather than ‘next’ and ‘prev.’Īnother solution would be to use the secondary PC as a sound module or effects box that is essentially downstream of the primary box. This would require two audio interfaces (another backup!) and a mixer. Just null out certain sounds in the A and B computers so they complement each other. A fully parallel approach would be to replicate set lists and everything in the two systems. The question is how to best configure Gig Performer on two computers. (If you don’t buy a full backup system, you spend time building and testing a “limp home” config, or compromise by playing from a limited set list from a primary-only computer.) it’s not for everyone, but Mac users (who are limited to 16 GB) who have backups could effectively double their capacity without breaking the bank. If a computer fails, load ‘Gig-lite” in the remaining computer and survive the night, even if you have to play Cassio sounds, rather than your boutique B3. You could buy a third computer as a backup (that could run either the primary or secondary config), or devise a “Gig-lite” strategy where one cuts down their samples and processing to get through the performance. Your build requires more RAM/CPU, so you get a Mac Mini to run more sounds. We should have a backup anyway, so why not put it to work? You start with one computer, say an M1 laptop. So I was thinking… what about multiple Gig Performer machines? You can build a PC with more RAM, but not necessarily small, light, cool, and quiet. The Mac M1 computers are small, powerful, efficient, and quiet, but expensive and limited to 16 GB. Such a strategy could maximize quality and performance per cost, while still providing a way to complete a performance if one of the computers fails.Ĭomputers with tons of RAM (as needed by many-sample users) continues to be a challenge. It also explores the idea of using the backup computer for such expansion, noting that we would need a fallback plan in case of a failure. This post explores the use of multiple computers in order to expand memory and CPU capacity. OVERVIEW: We should have at least one main computer and a backup computer for live performance. I have spent a little bit too much time on this so I think it is worth to share my experience. OK, obviously it wouldn't look like that, but I think the last image outlines my purpose here. Maybe the output would look something like this on the more recent (2015) photo. It would be really neat if I could run some process that would highlight the areas that have changed dramatically, such that the new houses, in this case, would be easily identifiable. Here's an example of two satellite photos, the first taken in May 2013, the other taken in January 2015. I know satellite photos can vary greatly due to weather, photo exposure variations, seasonal changes, etcetera so my plan is to run some photoshop filters on satellite photos to try and normalize the imagery, then run some kind of "diff" process to highlight where changes have occurred. Currently, I'm doing it manually which is very slow. One thing thats interesting is you can determine new construction. In Google Earth, you can roll back the clock on satellite imagery, for whatever reason, and determine what has changed over the years. I'm trying to figure out a way to more rapidly determine where new construction is happening by comparing annual satellite imagery. AutoRepeater takes all the best ideas from these plugins, along with the Burp Suite’s familiar user interface, and combines them to create the most streamlined authorization testing plugin.ĪutoRepeater provides a general-purpose solution for streamlining authorization testing within web applications. AuthMatrix and Authz require users to send specific requests to the plugins and set up rules for how the authorization testing is performed, which introduces the risk of missing important requests and slows down testing. Burp acts as a proxy server, capturing Web traffic between a browser on your computer and the Internet. There are some existing Burp Suite plugins (AuthMatrix, Authz, and Autorize) which exist to make authorization testing easier but each has issues that limit their usefulness. Currently, Burp Suite does not quickly test for these types of vulnerabilities within a web application. For example, changing email addresses, account identities, roles, URLs, and CSRF tokens can all lead to vulnerabilities. While this testing flow works, it is particularly tedious for testing issues that could exist within any request. Start again from step 1, until the user runs out of testing time or can retire from bug bounty earnings.Repeat step 3 until a sweet vulnerability is found.

The trail turns left (west) just before Sheep Bridge, crosses the Uinta River, and winds up eleven or so switch backs to about 8600 feet. Judging on time, about 1/3+ of the way from Sheep Bridge to the Lower Chain Lake one comes to a big sign announcing the Ashley National Forest At 12:02 pm I began the 10 mile hike into the Chain Lakes, destination of my first camp spot. As I finished my lunch in the parking lot, one car drove in, stopped for a minute, and continued on, and a group of hiker returned, got in their vehicle and left. I was pleased that even on a Saturday there was only 3 or so horse trailers, and another 2 or 3 cars in the parking area, and no people present (unlike Henry’s Fork, shortest distance to Kings’ Peak, which is typically a zoo on a Saturday in the summer). The drive was about 180 miles (295 km) from Orem and took close to 3 hours. The road is gated about 3/4 of a mile below the apparently abandoned U-Bar Ranch, but there is a big parking area to the left of the gate, along with pit toilets, and a place to register (free). I drove from my home in Orem Utah up through Heber, and over to Roosevelt where I left the main highway and headed to the Uinta River Trailhead about 25 miles further along. My target peaks were Trail Rider Peak (aka Ramp Peak) at 13247 ft, Roberts Peak (aka Pyramid Peak) at 13287 ft, North Emmons (aka Pinnacle Peak) at 13068 ft, South Emmons (aka Glacier Peak) at 13170 ft, and Mt Emmons at 13440 ft. August 13, 2016, I headed out to Utah’s Uinta mountains to begin a five day solo backpacking trip that would cover 44 miles (and gain over 7000 vertical feet) and take me to the top of five peaks over 13,000 ft. You may be able to with a Gateway cache, or with a private cache (aka, your client can figure out caching based on your expiration headers). Requests behind authentication and/or SSL are usually not cached.Using the Cache-Control header to set a response to 'public' will allow Proxy and Gateway caches to cache your site content. If you have a Gateway cache such as Varnish, you can potentially cache responses to end points per user A gateway cache gives you a lot of cache control since its part of your stack. This is good for APIs with a lot of writes (updates) to resources.ĭone with Expires, Cache-Control, Date and related headers, expiration caching can aid in caching a response for the next user (or even for one specific user) on subsequent page loads, saving your server(s) from traffic load Concurrency Control - in a POST or, more likely, PUT request, a server can check if the resource being updated was changed since the requester last checked (solves the Lost Update Problem). This is good for mobile APIs where the bandwidth of re-sending a message body can be saved via conditional requests. Conditional GET requests - a server can tell the request 'nothing has changed since you last checked'.Expiration - save round-trips to the origin server - a cache can potentially serve a response directly, saving the origin server from even knowing about the requestĭone with if-* headers ( If-Match, If-Modified-Since, and so forth), validation caching is primarily used for 2 things (most useful for an API, in my opinion).Validation - save bandwidth by not having an origin server reply with a full message body (your origin server returns a header-only response). The HTTP spec defines 2 methods of HTTP caching: This is your web-server - the one that has your application and static assets, such as images, javascript and css files. Note: I'll use the term origin server a lot. Which cache mechanisms you use depends on your use case. Making a response (web page, api-response, etc) cacheable is part of the HTTP cache mechanism. Your browser is a private cache it will cache responses unique to the sites you visit. Private - Private caches are caches that are unique to a specific user. They sit in front of your web-server and act much in the same way of proxy servers - except they are for your application(s) only. Gateway - Similar to in-app caches, Gateway caches live as part of your infrastructure.Because they are employed at a high-level, they can (and do) cache thousands of various websites. Proxy - A proxy cache is a public, shared cache often employed by an ISP or large corporation. They can potentially save requests from ever reaching your server by responding to a request itself. HTTP Caching is mostly done by third-parties. Your code checks your in-app caches and determines if it should use them to retrieve data in order to fulfill the request. It takes action when a request makes its way to your server. It allows you to store objects in memory for quick retrieval. In-app caching lives in your infrastructure and interacts with your application code. HTTP caching - proxy, gateway, and private.In-app caching (APC, Memcache, Redis, other memory stores).colocated cache is really about the load.At a high-level, there are two popular types of caching: Q: Is dedicated caching better for our scenario? how much is left over and whether or not that is of any use to your main application You will need to try this out to see how much ram you get vs. I believe colocated cache is supported at Small instance and higher. Q: We use extra-small web role instances now - do we need to upgrade to small/medium instances?Ī: Yes. The endpoints to co-located cache are strictly internal. Q: If there was a way to update co-located cache from an external app, cache notifications could be used to invalidated all co-located cache nodes, correct?Ī: I don't believe so. Either way, you're implementing your own notification mechanism Alternatively, throw a message onto a queue and have your Webroles monitor that queue and clear the item from cache when they receive a message in the queue. And I would call that endpoint from your external apps (this endpoint can be a service, rest URL, etc). Q: How can the co-located cache be updated from an external app?Ī: I would expose a public endpoint on your Webrole that would clear cache. After doing a bunch of research and guided by Simon's responses in the SO thread he already mentioned, here are my responses: It's not far from the fence and I find it easier than the kitchen perm breakout people like to pull off.
